Editorial standards

What ends up on this site, what does not, and why.

If something here looks wrong, tell us and we will take it down.

Where images come from

Images are licensed stock, work published with an artist's permission and credit, or produced for this site. We do not republish work taken from social platforms or from a studio's portfolio.

What we check on every image

Artists

If you are an artist and want your work featured with a credit and a link, or you have found your work here without permission, get in touch and we will act the same day.

What we do not do

How captions are checked

The visible body area must support the placement label. Size is an estimate unless the artist supplies a measurement, so captions use a range when a precise number cannot be verified. Style and colour describe what appears in the image rather than assigning an artist to a movement they have not used themselves.

Corrections and removals

A correction request should include the page address, image title and the proposed change. Rights and consent concerns are reviewed before routine editorial suggestions. When ownership or permission cannot be confirmed quickly, the disputed image can be removed while the request is checked.
